Second generation FDn lens - beautiful clear glass

The 2nd-generation lens for auction here is an FDn 200mm f/2.8 with 7 elements in 6 groups compared to the 1st-generation type which uses 5 elements in 5 groups.

This lens is like new in every way. It is without a doubt the nicest FD lens that I have ever owned. I kept it in a soft bag away from the dust when it was not in use (it was used very little.)

I'd give it a 9.5 to 10 rating. Very nice, you will not be disappointed!

The glass is dust, scratch and fungus free. The body is in new condition with no scratches. The focusing action and stop ring are both tight - just like new. The aperture blades are clean and dry. I hate to let it go because it is so pretty but I never use it and I believe that a serious film enthusiast should get a chance to enjoy it.

A big and heavy professional quality lens that balances very well in the hand, even with a motor drive and winder. The extra stop in speed can make a lot of difference for ambient light photography. Furthermore, you will have an extra stop to play around with for depth of field control. This lens is especially suitable for head and shoulder type of portraiture or fashion photography and is equally versatile for sports and nature photography where its slightly longer focal length can be used to isolate a section within a view.
